لكُم خيالٌ فى الجفون مُمَثَّلُ

أبداً وذكرٌ بالفؤاد مُوَكَّلُ
Your image is pictured within the eyelids,
You have an imagination in your eyelids, ever dramatized,
Your phantom is ever portrayed within my eyelids, and a memory is entrusted to my heart.
forever, and your memory is entrusted to the heart.
And a memory in your heart, ever entrusted.
We yearn for your dwellings with deep ardor, unsealing the vessels of tears to let them flow.
وإلىand toward دياركُمyour dwellings نَحِنُّwe yearn صَبابةًwith ardent longing
وإلى دياركُم نَحِنُّ صَبابةً
وَنَفُضُّand we unseal أوعيَةَvessels الدموعِof tears ونُرسِلُand we release
وَنَفُضُّ أوعيَةَ الدموعِ ونُرسِلُ
And for your dwellings we yearn with ardent longing,
And to your home we yearn, youthful,
Over those abodes, no cloud passes pouring rain, but that an eye pours forth its tears.
and we unseal the vessels of tears and let them flow.
Spilling the vessels of tears, sending them off.
It harmed not the lands, as they dwelled in their quarters, that a home for Alwa is not seen therein.

تهمى بها إِلا وعينٌ تَهمُلُ
Those dwellings—no cloud passes
Those dwellings - no cloud passes by them,
pouring rain upon them without an eye shedding tears.
Craving them, without a languishing eye.

What harm did it do them, when people inhabited their grounds,
It hurts them not, when they alight in its glades,
that no dwelling for ʿAlwah was seen there?
That no lofty abode is seen in them.
