The sight of his virtues has spared beholders the need for
The radiance of his essence made eloquent
words cobbled together about people and fabricated.
Speech that patched people superfluous,

O peerless one of the age, I face no objection when
O eternal one, when I say this, none can refute,
I say this in my words, nor any reproach.
Neither my words nor their comprehension,
ماnot كانthere was بعدَafter أميرCommander المؤمنينthe Faithful فتىًa young man
فيهin him الشجاعةُcourage إِلاexcept أنتyou والنُّسُكُand piety
After the Commander of the Faithful, there has been no young man
After the Prince of Believers no young man
with courage and piety save you.
Had courage but you and devotion,
فالفِعلُthus the conduct منهfrom him ومنكand from you اليومtoday مَتَّفَقٌalike

Thus his conduct and yours today are alike,
Your actions and his today concur,
and his epithet and yours today are one and the same.
And your attributes and his today overlap,

He is called the righteous one (Ṣāliḥ) of all the faithful,
You're called righteous by all religious people,
and you are the righteous one (Ṣāliḥ) of those who hold fast to faith.
And you're righteous to those who hold to religion,

You were not content with the names of men who had become decayed bones,
You were not pleased with people's names who became relics,
as though their titles were legacies left behind them.
As if their titles after them were abandoned.
