أيا صاحِبَي سجنِ الخِزانةِ خَلِّيَا

أيا صاحِبَي سجنِ الخِزانةِ خَلِّيَا

نسيمَ الصَّبا يُرسِل إِلى كبدى نَفحا

نسيمَ الصَّبا يُرسِل إِلى كبدى نَفحا

O you two keepers of the treasury prison, let

O my two friends, prisoners of the closet, release me

O companions of the treasury prison, let pass

The east wind's breeze send a waft to my liver.

The morning breeze sends a whiff to my liver

The eastern breeze to send a breath to my heart

وقولا لضوءِ الصُّبحِ هل أنت عائدٌ

وقولا لضوءِ الصُّبحِ هل أنت عائدٌ

إِلى نظري أم لا أرى بعدها صُبحا

إِلى نظري أم لا أرى بعدها صُبحا

And say to the light of dawn: 'Will you return

And say to the dawn light, are you coming back

And say to the light of dawn, 'Are you returning

To my sight, or shall I see no dawn after this?'

To my sight or will I not see the dawn again

To my eyes, or shall I see no morning hereafter?'

ولا تيئسا من رحمةِ اللهِ أن أرى

ولا تيئسا من رحمةِ اللهِ أن أرى

سريعاً بفضل الكاملِ العفوَ والصَّفحا

سريعاً بفضل الكاملِ العفوَ والصَّفحا

And do not despair of God's mercy—that I may see

Do not despair of God's mercy that I will see

And do not despair of God's mercy that I might see

Soon, through al-Kamil's favor, pardon and forgiveness.

Soon by the grace of the Perfect One, forgiveness and pardon

Swiftly, by the grace of the Perfect One, pardon and peace

فإن تحبساني فى النُّجوم تَجبُّراً

فإن تحبساني فى النُّجوم تَجبُّراً

فلن تحبسا منِّى له الشّكرَ والمَدحا

فلن تحبسا منِّى له الشّكرَ والمَدحا

For if you two imprison me among the stars in tyranny,

If you imprison me in the stars out of arrogance

For if you imprison me in the stars out of tyranny

Then you will not stifle my gratitude and praise for him.

You will not imprison from me praise and thanks to Him

You shall not imprison my gratitude and praise for Him
