وَقَد حَمل في الهَوى يا مُنيَتي كلّا
Your servant, my gazelle, has become a burden upon you.
Upon you, my servant Ghazali has become altogether worn down
And in love, O my heart’s desire, he has borne a heavy burden.
And he has borne in love, O my wishes, altogether
وَمَتنُand the backbone of صَبرِهِhis patience مِنَfrom الهِجرانِseparation قَدindeed كَلّاhas grown weary
وَمَتنُ صَبرِهِ مِنَ الهِجرانِ قَد كَلّا
فجُدْso be generous بِوَصلِكَwith union with you عَلَيهِto him فَالوَصلُfor union مَطولبهwhat he seeks
فجُدْ بِوَصلِكَ عَلَيهِ فَالوَصلُ مَطولبه
And the backbone of his patience has grown weary from separation.
And the patience of his separation has altogether finished
So graciously grant him union with you, for union is what he seeks.
So be generous with your union upon him, for the union is his request
وَلاand do not تُجيبهْanswer him بِقَولِكby your saying ياO رشاyoung gazelle كلّاno!
وَلا تُجيبهْ بِقَولِك يا رشا كلّا
And do not answer him, O young gazelle, by saying, “No!”
And do not answer him with your words, O Rasha, not at all
