تُبَشّرُنا بِالخَيرِ عَن مظهرِ المَجدِ
God bless you, messenger—you came bearing glad tidings,
May God reward you, as you came as a harbinger
bringing us good news of the embodiment of glory.
Bringing us good tidings from the appearance of glory
فَأَكمدتso you grieved مَنwhoever قَدalready كانَhad been خِدنَa companion عَداوَةٍof enmity

وَأَصغَرت إِذ بَشّرتَنا أَعيُنَ الضدِّ
You plunged into grief whoever had been a companion of enmity,
Thus you quenched one who had been intensely hostile
and, in gladdening us, humbled the eyes of the foe.
And belittled, as you gave us good tidings, the eyes of the adversary
وَصَيَّرتand you made مِنّاamong us كُلَّevery عَينٍeye قَريرةcontent

You made every eye among us content,
And you made every one of our eyes gently flowing
and moistened the liver of everyone among us whose liver burned.
And moistened the burning liver of each liver

You gladdened every heart and soul among us,
And delighted each heart and mind among us
which distress, but for you, had nearly brought to ruin.
That almost collapsed into ruin were it not for you

The light of joy bore us along once it appeared,
And the light of joy shone
as though we were the horizon's full moons displaying their light.
As if the horizons dawned with light as it appears

وَخِلنا نَطولُ البدرَ مَع غايَةِ البعدِ
We flew with a joy beyond all description,
And we flew joyfully, that cannot be fully described
and imagined we could reach the full moon despite its utmost distance.
And we aspired to reach the full moon despite the distance

You made the universe's form dance on every side,
And you made the feet of the universe dance from every side
while joys flowed from that form.
And joys flowed from those legs

Was it not fitting for the worlds to dance their forms,
Indeed, it is the right of the universes to dance their dances
when the star of good fortune shone throughout their reaches?
When the star of bliss shone in their folds

yet among them I deem him the peerless jewel.
And nothing in them compares except the unmatched gem

Arwa of fidelity may match his like [wording unclear],

the tawny lion rises above the chestnut horse.
The sword's height surpasses that of the meadow

Indeed, the lofty summits obeyed his command
if he forbids them, they desist; if he urges them, they kill.
If he prohibited them, they stopped, and if he stirred them, they collapsed
