أَنتَyou غُصنٌa branch وَلَمand did not يُمِلْكَsway you كَلاميmy words
أَنتَ غُصنٌ وَلَم يُمِلْكَ كَلامي
بِاِلتِفاتٍwith a turn إِليّtoward me مَاذاwhat يُميلُكْsways you
بِاِلتِفاتٍ إِليّ مَاذا يُميلُكْ
You are a branch, yet my words have not swayed you.
You are a branch and my speech does not have power over you
What will sway you to turn toward me?
With turning to me, what can make you incline?
وَكَلاميand my words ياO غُصنُbranch عِندَكto you ريحٌwind
وَكَلامي يا غُصنُ عِندَك ريحٌ
فَلِماذاso why ياO غُصنbranch لاnot يَستَميلُكwins you over
فَلِماذا يا غُصن لا يَستَميلُك
And my words, O branch, are wind to you.
And my speech, O branch, is to you just wind
Then why, O branch, do they not sway you?
So why, O branch, does it not attract you?
