مَن أَخلَصَ الوُدَّ بِحُبِّ اِمرِئٍ

مَن أَخلَصَ الوُدَّ بِحُبِّ اِمرِئٍ

بِغَيرِ عينِ الودِّ لا يُلْحَظُ

بِغَيرِ عينِ الودِّ لا يُلْحَظُ

Whoever makes affection pure through love of another,

Whoever is sincere in his affection for someone

Is beheld by no eye but affection’s own.

is looked upon only with the eye of affection.

فَاِحفَظْ عُهودَ الودِّ لا تَنْسَها

فَاِحفَظْ عُهودَ الودِّ لا تَنْسَها

فربُّنا يحفظُ مَنْ يحفظُ

فربُّنا يحفظُ مَنْ يحفظُ

So keep affection’s covenants; do not forget them,

So keep the pledges of affection; do not forget them,

For our Lord safeguards whoever safeguards them.

for our Lord protects whoever keeps them.
