Whoever is lofty by nature gains the highest rank without seeking it.
Who has attained the heights without desire
And the lowly seeks it with striving, yet does not attain it.
While those below strive fruitlessly to aspire

مَن كانَ غَيرَ عَليٍّ كانَ غَيرَ علي
Let no one strain his soul to attain the heights.
None can tax the soul to reach such heights
Whoever is not Ali is not lofty.
Save he who is Ali, unlike all other wights
