إِذاwhen كُنتُI am فيamong قَوميmy people فَماليthen my wealth أُبيحُهمI make it available to them
إِذا كُنتُ في قَومي فَمالي أُبيحُهم
وَأَمنَعُهand I withhold it عَنهمfrom them بِحينِat the time of مَغيبيmy absence
وَأَمنَعُه عَنهم بِحينِ مَغيبي
Whenever I am among my people, I freely place my wealth at their disposal,
When I am among my people, I make my wealth freely available to them,
But withhold it from them during my absence—
and withhold it from them when I am absent.
فَكالشَّمسِso, like the sun تَحبوbestows upon النّاسَthe people كلَّall ضِيائِهاits light
فَكالشَّمسِ تَحبو النّاسَ كلَّ ضِيائِها
وَتَحجبُهand withholds it عَنهمfrom them بِوقتِat the time of الغروبِsunset
وَتَحجبُه عَنهم بِوقتِ الغروبِ
Like the sun, which bestows on all people the fullness of its radiance,
So I am like the sun, which bestows all its light on people,
Then veils it from them at the hour of sunset.
and withholds it from them at sunset.
