يَقولونَthey say لَيسَis not العينُthe eye تقلِبُturns حاجِباًan eyebrow; a barrier
يَقولونَ لَيسَ العينُ تقلِبُ حاجِباً
فَقُمتُso I rose وَقَدwhile already ضَلّواthey had strayed السّبيلَthe path مُغاضباin anger
فَقُمتُ وَقَد ضَلّوا السّبيلَ مُغاضبا
They say the eye does not turn into an eyebrow.
So I rose in anger, for they had strayed from the path.
فلاso may not حيَّlive عَينٍan eye صارَbecame ليfor me اليومَtoday حاجِباًa barrier; an eyebrow
فلا حيَّ عَينٍ صارَ لي اليومَ حاجِباً
فَقَدthus indeed صَحَّit proved true أَنَّthat العينَthe eye تقلبُturns حاجِباan eyebrow; a barrier
فَقَد صَحَّ أَنَّ العينَ تقلبُ حاجِبا
May the eye that became a barrier to me today live no more!
Thus it is proven that the eye does turn into an eyebrow.
