They saw the redness of his eyes when he saw me.
They noticed the redness in his eyes when he smelled me
They asked, conjecturing, “Is this inflammation of the eyes?”
They asked if it was an eye infection out of illusion
فَأَجَبتهمso I answered them جرحhe wounded الفُؤادthe heart بِسَيفِهاwith their sword (the eyes’)

فَاِحمَرَّ لَمّا أَنْ تَلَوَّث مِن دَمي
So I answered them: “He wounded my heart with his eyes’ sword,
So I answered them, the wound of my heart with her sword
And it reddened when it became stained with my blood.”
And it turned red when it was drenched with my blood
