The earth yearned for her children,

To embrace them with a loving father's embrace.

To embrace them as a loving father would

فَأَرسَلَت لمّا تَوانَوا بارداً

فَأَرسَلَت لمّا تَوانَوا بارداً

فَساقَهم حالاً إِلى اللّحودِ

فَساقَهم حالاً إِلى اللّحودِ

So, when they tarried, she sent a chill,

So when they tarried, she sent them a cold wind

And it drove them at once to the graves.

That drove them swiftly to their graves
