Sol 6.1

  1. جاءَت بِلَيلٍ طَويلٍ وَهيَ زَائرةٌ

    فيهِ الرّقيبُ نَأى عَنّا وَقَد غابا

    She came as a visitor on a long night,

    when the watcher had withdrawn from us and was gone.

  2. وَقَد سَهِرنا عَلى صَفوٍ بلا كدرٍ

    نَلهو وَنَلعَبُ أَنواعاً وَأَبوابا

    And we stayed awake in serenity, without distress,

    amusing ourselves and playing in varied forms and ways.

  3. وَرامَتِ السّيرَ قَبلَ الصّبحِ يَسبِقُها

    فَشِمتُ مِمّا فَعَلنا اللَّيلَ قَد شابا

    And she wished to depart before dawn overtook her;

    so I saw that the night had turned gray from what we had done.
