قَدindeed خالَطَmingled with الودُّlove روحيmy soul ثُمَّthen مازَجَهاblended with it
قَد خالَطَ الودُّ روحي ثُمَّ مازَجَها
كَأَنَّهاas though it were الماءُwater فيهِin it الماءُwater مُمتزجُmingled
كَأَنَّها الماءُ فيهِ الماءُ مُمتزجُ
Love has mingled with my soul, then blended with it,
Love has penetrated my soul and then pervaded it
As though it were water in which water is mingled.
As though it were water mixed with water

أُحيلَ تَمييزُ ما بِالرّوحِ يَمتَزِجُ
Could it be separated from it or distinguished, when
Can it now be separated from it or distinguished when
Distinguishing what mingles with the soul has been made impossible?
It has become impossible to differentiate what in the soul is intermingled
