قَصباتُه أَبزازُها مِن كَهربا

أَحسِنْ بِها قوّى الإِلَهُ جَنانَها
Its pipe stems have nipples of amber.
Its canes, their buds electrified
How fine they are! May God strengthen their hearts!
Made excellent by God, their paradise strengthened
كَالأُمَّهاتِlike mothers المُرضِعاتِnursing رضيعَهاtheir infant
كَالأُمَّهاتِ المُرضِعاتِ رضيعَها
أَفَلاdo you not, then تَراهاsee them أَرضَعَتهthey suckled him دُخانَهاtheir smoke
أَفَلا تَراها أَرضَعَته دُخانَها
Like mothers nursing their infant,
Like nursing mothers pleased with their suckling babe
Do you not, then, see that they have suckled him with their smoke?
Can you not see, it nursed him with its smoke
