إِنّ ذا الحوضَ محكمٌ ببناءٍ

إِنّ ذا الحوضَ محكمٌ ببناءٍ

وهو خيرٌ من أَعظَمِ الخيراتِ

وهو خيرٌ من أَعظَمِ الخيراتِ

Indeed, this basin is soundly built,

Indeed this basin is firmly constructed

And it is better than the greatest good works.

And it is better than the greatest of fortunes

فَسُليمانُ ذو الوزارةِ حَقّاً

فَسُليمانُ ذو الوزارةِ حَقّاً

قَد بَناهُ بِخالِصِ النيّاتِ

قَد بَناهُ بِخالِصِ النيّاتِ

For Sulayman, truly the holder of the vizierate,

So Solomon the rightfully guided

Has indeed built it with pure intentions.

Has built it with the purest of intentions

ماؤُهُ العَذبُ سالَ وَهوَ لُجَينٌ

ماؤُهُ العَذبُ سالَ وَهوَ لُجَينٌ

شُربهُ بِالشّفاءِ أَحسنُ آتي

شُربهُ بِالشّفاءِ أَحسنُ آتي

Its sweet water flowed—silver itself.

Its fresh water flows and it is abundant

Drinking it is the finest bringer of healing.

Drinking it with healing is best brought

ذا وَمِنهُ العوافِ أَرَّختُ دَبَّت

ذا وَمِنهُ العوافِ أَرَّختُ دَبَّت

ماءُ عينٍ بَل عَينُ ماءِ الحياةِ

ماءُ عينٍ بَل عَينُ ماءِ الحياةِ

This I dated, and from it well-being spread:

From it I have satiated my thirsty camel

Spring water—nay, the very water of life.

Not just water of a spring but water of life
