Indeed, the sky appeared, its blue deepening,
The sky appears to intensify its blueness
And no change came over its beauty.
And its beauty knows no change
كَأَنّهاas though it were حينَماwhen تَسريglide النّجومthe stars بِهاthrough it

بَحرٌa sea لَقَدindeed سَبحتswam فيهِin it القَناديلُthe lanterns
بَحرٌ لَقَد سَبحت فيهِ القَناديلُ
It seems, when the stars glide through it,
As if when the stars pass through it
Like a sea in which lanterns have swum.
It were a sea in which lamps have swum
