قَدindeed كانَthere were ليfor me إِبلٌcamels لَكِنّهاbut they مُسِخَتwere transformed
مِنbecause of نَحسِill luck of حَظّيmy fortune عَصافيراًinto sparrows فَلاso do not تَسلاask
I once had camels, but they were transformed
By my ill fortune into sparrows—so do not ask!
لاno غَروَwonder حيثُsince الحظوظُthe fortunes النَّحسُill-starred ماسِخَةٌtransforming
إِنif قَدindeed غَداhas come to نَحسُill luck of حَظّيmy fortune يَمسَخُtransform الجَملاthe camel
No wonder, since ill-starred fortunes transform things,
If my ill fortune has indeed come to transform the camel.
