وَأُنكِرُ النّصحَ إِذ قَد كُنت مَعذولا
How often, my reproacher, you claim to counsel me—and rebuke me!
How often you claim to advise me, my reproacher, yet reproach me!
Yet I reject the counsel, since you yourself were reproached.
And I reject the counsel, since I have already been reproached.

The judge of love would never accept your plea;
The judge of love would not accept your claim;
But how could one dismissed from office even hear it?
Rather, how could one dismissed from office hear it?
