يا حسنَ هَذا السّلسَبيل إِنَّهُ

يا حسنَ هَذا السّلسَبيل إِنَّهُ

خَيريّةٌ لِربّنا خالِصة

خَيريّةٌ لِربّنا خالِصة

How lovely is this sweet-flowing fountain! It is

O beauty, this aqueduct

A charitable gift devoted wholly to our Lord.

Is a charity dedicated purely to our Lord

لَهُ سُليمان الزّمان قَد بنى

لَهُ سُليمان الزّمان قَد بنى

وحبّذا البنايَةُ الفاخِرةُ

وحبّذا البنايَةُ الفاخِرةُ

For Him, Suleiman of the age has built it—

Suleiman of the age built it

And how fine is the splendid building!

And excellent is this splendid edifice

في جَنّةِ الفِردَوسِ مِن دارِ البَقا

في جَنّةِ الفِردَوسِ مِن دارِ البَقا

تبنى له منزلةٌ عاليةُ

تبنى له منزلةٌ عاليةُ

In the garden of Firdaus, in the abode of eternity,

In the garden of Paradise, the abode of eternity

A lofty dwelling shall be built for him.

A lofty dwelling is built for him

وَإِنّه وَماؤُه أَرّختهُ

وَإِنّه وَماؤُه أَرّختهُ

بطيِّبٍ صدقةٌ جاريةُ

بطيِّبٍ صدقةٌ جاريةُ

And indeed, I dated it and its water:

Its water, dated by goodness

“With something good—an ongoing charity.”

Is an ever-flowing alms
