طَلَعَappeared العِذارُthe cheek-down وَلَمand has not يَزَلceased to be
طَلَعَ العِذارُ وَلَم يَزَل
حُسناًbeautiful فَبيso with myself أَفديI ransom عِذارهْhis cheek-down
حُسناً فَبي أَفدي عِذارهْ
His cheek-down has appeared, yet he remains
The full moon rose, still beautiful,
beautiful—so I would ransom his cheek-down with myself.
So I would ransom its beauty.
فَالبَدرُfor the full moon بَدرٌa full moon دائِماًalways
فَالبَدرُ بَدرٌ دائِماً
فيwithin دارَةٍa halo وَبِدونِand without دارَهa halo
في دارَةٍ وَبِدونِ دارَه
For the full moon is always a full moon,
The moon is always a full moon,
within a halo or without one.
Whether dwelling or not dwelling.
