اُستُر عُيوبَك إِنَّ النّاسَ تُبصِرُها

اُستُر عُيوبَك إِنَّ النّاسَ تُبصِرُها

ولستَ تبصرها إذ أنتَ تُبديها

ولستَ تبصرها إذ أنتَ تُبديها

Hide your faults, for people see them.

Hide your flaws, for people see them

Yet you do not see them when you reveal them.

While you don't see them when you reveal them

فَالمَرءُ مِن غَيرِه كم شامَ فقحتَه

فَالمَرءُ مِن غَيرِه كم شامَ فقحتَه

وَلَيسَ مِن نَفسِهِ يَوماً بِرائِيها

وَلَيسَ مِن نَفسِهِ يَوماً بِرائِيها

For a man has often seen another's anus,

How often a man is repulsed by another's stench

Yet he never sees his own.

Yet never senses the reek of his own
