هَذيthis الثّريّاthe Pleiades وَهَذاand this البدرُthe full moon قارَنَهاhas joined them
هَذي الثّريّا وَهَذا البدرُ قارَنَها
وَمِنهُماand from them both الحُسنُbeauty أَبدىhas revealed غايَةَthe height of العجَبِwonder
وَمِنهُما الحُسنُ أَبدى غايَةَ العجَبِ
Here are the Pleiades, and this full moon has joined them.
Through them both, beauty has revealed the height of wonder.
عَقدٌa necklace مِنَof الدّرِّpearls لِلغَيداءِfor the graceful maiden تَلبسهshe wears it
عَقدٌ مِنَ الدّرِّ لِلغَيداءِ تَلبسه
وَفيهِand in it قَدindeed علّقتshe hung قُرصاًa disc مِنَof الذّهبِgold
وَفيهِ قَد علّقت قُرصاً مِنَ الذّهبِ
A necklace of pearls that the graceful maiden wears,
And in it she has hung a disc of gold.
