Hearts have grown fond of him, and so they are birds;
Hearts have grown fond of him, for they are birds;
And he is a bough upon which they sang in many strains.
And he is a branch upon which they sang in varied strains.
أَعَجيبٌis it strange? بِكَونهاin their having أَلِفَتهgrown fond of him
أَعَجيبٌ بِكَونها أَلِفَته
إِنّindeed شَأنَthe nature الطّيورِof birds تَهوىlove الغُصوناthe branches
إِنّ شَأنَ الطّيورِ تَهوى الغُصونا
Is it strange that they have grown fond of him?
Is it strange that they have grown fond of him?
For birds by nature yearn for boughs.
Indeed, it is the nature of birds to love branches.
