وَلَيلٍ بِهِ زارَني وَالنّجوم

وَلَيلٍ بِهِ زارَني وَالنّجوم

عُيون عَلَينا فَزِدت جُنونا

عُيون عَلَينا فَزِدت جُنونا

And on a night he visited me, while the stars

And a night it was when you visited me, and the stars

were eyes upon us, so I grew more mad.

Eyes upon us, so my madness grew

فَيا لَيلُ إِن لَم تَكفّ العُيون

فَيا لَيلُ إِن لَم تَكفّ العُيون

فَصُبحُ الدّجى منكَ يطفي العُيونا

فَصُبحُ الدّجى منكَ يطفي العُيونا

So, O night, if the eyes do not cease,

Oh night, if you don't hide the eyes

then dawn from your darkness will extinguish those eyes.

Then dawn's darkness from you will extinguish the eyes
