وَيا زَهرَةً مِن نَرجسٍ شمتها زَهت

وَيا زَهرَةً مِن نَرجسٍ شمتها زَهت

وَقَد نَفَحت في الرّوضِ أَعطَرَ نَفحةِ

وَقَد نَفَحت في الرّوضِ أَعطَرَ نَفحةِ

And O narcissus flower I beheld in bloom,

And O narcissus flower I smelled its fragrance

And it wafted the most fragrant breath through the garden.

It had diffused the most fragrant scent in the garden

فَأَصْفرُها مِن فَوقِ أَبيَضها إذا

فَأَصْفرُها مِن فَوقِ أَبيَضها إذا

نَظرتَ فَشَمس فَوقَ خَمسِ أهلّةِ

نَظرتَ فَشَمس فَوقَ خَمسِ أهلّةِ

So its yellow, above its white, when

So its yellowness over its whiteness when

You look, is a sun above five crescent moons.

You look is like a sun over the fifth crescent moon
