وَإِنّ بَني الصوّافِ زينُ ذَوي النُّهى

وَإِنّ بَني الصوّافِ زينُ ذَوي النُّهى

وَهُم نُخبَةُ العَليا وَهُم أَنجُمُ الزَّمَنْ

وَهُم نُخبَةُ العَليا وَهُم أَنجُمُ الزَّمَنْ

And indeed, the sons of al-Sawwaf are the adornment of the discerning.

They are the cream of nobility, and they are the stars of the age.

وَلَستَ تَرى فيهِم وَلَم تَكُ رائِياً

وَلَستَ تَرى فيهِم وَلَم تَكُ رائِياً

سِوى كاملٍ يَحوي المَحاسِنَ والفِطنْ

سِوى كاملٍ يَحوي المَحاسِنَ والفِطنْ

You see none among them, nor have you ever seen,

except a perfect man possessing virtues and keen wits.

فَشِمْ حَسَناً فيهِم تَراهُ جَميعَهم

فَشِمْ حَسَناً فيهِم تَراهُ جَميعَهم

وَكلُّ بَني الصوّاف بَينَ الوَرى حَسَنْ

وَكلُّ بَني الصوّاف بَينَ الوَرى حَسَنْ

So look for Hasan among them: you will see him in them all;

and every son of al-Sawwaf is good among humankind.
