فيin ماءِwater وَجنَتِهِhis cheek ذاتِpossessing الجمالِbeauty سَرىglided
في ماءِ وَجنَتِهِ ذاتِ الجمالِ سَرى
عِذارُهhis cheek-down مذsince تبدّىappeared زَورقاًa skiff لَبِقاgraceful
عِذارُه مذ تبدّى زَورقاً لَبِقا
Across the waters of his beauty-blessed cheek there glided
Through the water of his beautiful cheek glided
his down, from when it first appeared—a graceful skiff.
His cheek-down, since it appeared as a graceful skiff.
وَمُذand when رَآهُsaw it البهاbeauty فيin مائِهاits water غَرقاًsubmerged
وَمُذ رَآهُ البها في مائِها غَرقاً
بِالوَردِwith roses وَالمِسكِand musk والأَنوارِand lights قَدindeed وَسَقاloaded
بِالوَردِ وَالمِسكِ والأَنوارِ قَد وَسَقا
And when Splendor saw it drowned within those waters,
And when Beauty saw it submerged in that cheek’s water,
it was freighted with roses, musk, and radiance.
It loaded the skiff with roses, musk, and lights.
