A greeting from a lover enamored of his beloved,

The feelings voice it before the senses.

A greeting that makes salutations appear as stars,

A greeting through which salutations grow precious and rise high,

And in it all glories are perfected, to its honor.

Husayn, companion of skill, understanding, and wisdom,

Obeying his prohibitions and whatever he commands.

So eloquent that beside him Sahban is deemed Baqil,

Even if he says 'Now then' while debating.

So may your thought remain ever clear in imagination,

So that pearls emerge from it, and then jewels.

And remain in God's protection as long as the east wind blows,

And as long as a turtledove laments and a bird sings,
