If You have mercy on me—I am that servant,

If You have mercy on me, I am that servant—

heavy with sins, my Lord; yet all praise is Yours.

Full of faults, my Lord; and praise is Yours.

معاملة بالفضل أرجوك دائما

معاملة بالفضل أرجوك دائما

وان تمنحن قربا فخارى به يبدوا

وان تمنحن قربا فخارى به يبدوا

Deal with me in grace, I beg You, always,

I always beseech You for gracious treatment,

and grant me nearness, through which glory shines;

And that You grant me nearness, through which my pride shines forth,

وسعدوا وارفاداً وفيضا وسؤددا

وسعدوا وارفاداً وفيضا وسؤددا

وعلما وتوفيقا به يطرد الصد

وعلما وتوفيقا به يطرد الصد

felicity, support, an outpouring, and eminence;

And good fortune, benefaction, an outpouring, and eminence,

knowledge and divine success, by which estrangement is driven away;

And knowledge and success, through which rejection is banished;

وجنة احسان وجنة مشهد

وجنة احسان وجنة مشهد

لطيف شريف لا يرى بعده بعد

لطيف شريف لا يرى بعده بعد

a garden of spiritual excellence and a garden of witnessing,

And a garden of beneficence, and a garden of witnessing—

gracious and sublime, beyond which no distance can be seen;

Subtle and noble, after which no distance is seen;

وجنة أشواق وانة عاشق

وجنة أشواق وانة عاشق

تقدس بالتقوى افيض له الود

تقدس بالتقوى افيض له الود

a garden of longings and the moan of a lover,

And a garden of longings, and a lover's sigh—

hallowed by piety, upon whom love is poured forth;

Sanctified through piety, for whom love was poured forth;

وخلعة تقريب وقنة سؤدد

وخلعة تقريب وقنة سؤدد

يفوز بها كلي ويصفو بها الورد

يفوز بها كلي ويصفو بها الورد

a robe of honor conferring nearness, and the summit of glory,

And a robe of nearness, and a summit of eminence,

through which my whole being triumphs and my devotional litany grows pure;

Through it my whole being triumphs, and through it my devotions grow pure;

ومسلك فرقان وحسن عناية

ومسلك فرقان وحسن عناية

يطيب بها قدري ويعلو بها السعد

يطيب بها قدري ويعلو بها السعد

and Your touch, bringing discernment and gracious care,

And a path of discernment, and gracious care,

by which my destiny is blessed and my felicity exalted;

Through it my standing improves, and through it good fortune rises;

ونور سلوك الخير والسنن الذي

ونور سلوك الخير والسنن الذي

لسالكه يا سيدي الفوز والوعد

لسالكه يا سيدي الفوز والوعد

and the light of walking in goodness and the Prophetic ways—which,

And the light of following goodness and the path whose

for its wayfarer, my Lord, hold triumph and the promised reward;

Traveler, my Lord, has victory and the promise;

ومنجح آمال وحسن مقاصد

ومنجح آمال وحسن مقاصد

يكون بها في جنة الخلد لي الخلد

يكون بها في جنة الخلد لي الخلد

the granting of hopes and noble aims,

And fulfillment of hopes, and noble aims,

through which everlasting life in the Garden of Eternity shall be mine.

Through them, may eternity be mine in the Garden of Eternity.

وأهلي وأولادي وصحبي ومن يلي

وأهلي وأولادي وصحبي ومن يلي

تولاهم حتى لهم يتمم القصد

تولاهم حتى لهم يتمم القصد

And my family, my children, my companions, and all who are close to me—

And my family, my children, my companions, and whoever follows—

take them into Your care until their purpose is fulfilled.

Take them into Your care until their aim is fulfilled.

وكن لي إلهي إنني العبد لامراء

وكن لي إلهي إنني العبد لامراء

وغاية ما عندي لك الشكر والحمد

وغاية ما عندي لك الشكر والحمد

And stand by me, my God: truly I am the servant, beyond dispute;

And stand by me, my God: indeed I am the servant, beyond dispute.

the utmost I possess for You is gratitude and praise.

And all I can offer You is gratitude and praise.
