He restored to her what had crumbled of her glory—

He restored her glory that was in ruins

A king who defended the realm with the sword’s edge.

A king who defended the sanctuary with the edge of his sword

وقلدها عقداً من الفخر أزهرا

وقلدها عقداً من الفخر أزهرا

كأن به قد نظمت أنجم السما

كأن به قد نظمت أنجم السما

And hung a radiant necklace of pride about her neck,

And adorned her with a necklace of shining pride

As though the stars of heaven had been strung upon it.

As if with it the stars of the sky were strung

وتوجها إكليل عز معظم ب

وتوجها إكليل عز معظم ب

شأنها أضحى عزيزاً معظما

شأنها أضحى عزيزاً معظما

And crowned her with a diadem of exalted honor, through which

And crowned her with a mighty, revered crown

Her standing became esteemed and exalted.

Whose glory has become mighty and revered

وسورها بالرعب من فتكاته

وسورها بالرعب من فتكاته

فكان لها سوراً منيعاً ومعصما

فكان لها سوراً منيعاً ومعصما

And fortified her with the terror of his deadly assaults,

And fortified her with the terror of his conquests

Thus it became her impregnable wall and refuge.

Thus becoming for her an unassailable, protective fortress

ولاها فأولاها السرور أبو الندى

من النعمى بها واكف هما

من النعمى بها واكف هما

The father of bounty ruled her and bestowed joy upon her;

And gave her authority, so Abu Al-Nada gave her joy

A shower of blessings poured down upon her.

With bounty, and held back grief

وفجر فيها انهر الشرع دفعة

وفجر فيها انهر الشرع دفعة

فلا أحد يشكو بها ابداً ظلما

فلا أحد يشكو بها ابداً ظلما

And made rivers of divine law burst forth within her all at once,

And unleashed in her rivers of law in a surge

So no one within her ever complains of injustice.

So no one will ever complain of injustice

وأطلق من أسر العنا كل مبصرٍ

وأطلق من أسر العنا كل مبصرٍ

وأودع في سجن الفنا كل ذي عمى

وأودع في سجن الفنا كل ذي عمى

And freed every clear-sighted person from the captivity of hardship,

And freed all insightful prisoners from the shackles of captivity

And consigned every blind person to the prison of annihilation.

And confined all the blind in the prison of oblivion

Abu Faisal, Abd al-Aziz, who within her

Abu Faisal Abdulaziz, with whom

Raised the beacon of guidance and brought generosity to perfection.

The lighthouse of guidance rose high, and generosity was perfected

لك العذر هجر في الذي منك قد مضى

رضينا وحبل الهجر ها قد تصرما

You are excused, Hajar, for what you did in the past;

You are excused for your past departure

We are content, and behold, the cord of estrangement has been severed.
