They abandoned you after a youthful love,

Yet I see you unable to forget the passion for the gentle one.

You followed them with a soul that cherishes you,

And you wrapped its sides with sorrows.

How many nights has one like you spent sleepless

Forgetting the nights with Urwa bin Hizam.

It flows with fantasies as if

You almost consider it to be fantasy.

O heart! How much passion you have for love,

You have become proverbial among people.

They counted my sins which I did not commit,

And love, my heart, is among the sins.

So let passion flow wherever it desires,

For the beautiful one blames much.

How many nights have I dreamed without seeing

The pleasures of dreams give me any delight.

So ward off the worries of life with a cup

That tells its old stories about people.

Gray-haired one, if she touched my heart once,

She washed with her side every bleeding wound.

They named her father generosity when she gave generously

To young men, eminent and nobles.

And they passed around her cups as if

The souls had returned to the bodies.

O mercy of the lovers from their beloveds,

They slept while spending the night sleepless.

Until the lamps of darkness faded

And the darkness of night shone,

They hid the passion within their hearts and woke up

While the flowers hid in their sleeves.
