للموتِ قد خُلِقَ البنونُ

للموتِ قد خُلِقَ البنونُ

وللردى خُلِقَ البناتُ

وللردى خُلِقَ البناتُ

For death, indeed, were sons created,

Sons are created for death

And for death were daughters created;

And daughters are created for loss

والموتُ أوسعُ للذي

والموتُ أوسعُ للذي

ضاقتْ بهِ هذي الحياةُ

ضاقتْ بهِ هذي الحياةُ

And death is more spacious for the one

And death is more spacious for him

For whom this life has grown too narrow.
