1. طلعت فينا هلالا

    يا ابني فقلنا تبارك

    You rose among us as a crescent moon,

    O my son, and we said: 'Be blessed

  2. باسم الإله تعالى

    ترقى السعادة دارك

    in the name of God Most High.'

    May happiness ascend to your home.

  3. سميت للدين نصرا

    قل يا إلاهي انتصارك

    You were named Nasr, a victory for the faith;

    say: 'O my God, grant Your victory.'

  4. ما احسن اسمك فالا

    ما كان احلى اختيارك

    How fine an omen your name is!

    How sweet was your choice!

  5. للصالح اسما أبيكم

    منا الهناء المشارك

    To your father, Salih by name,

    we offer our shared congratulations.

  6. قد جئت والعام تسعى

    بالخير قر قرارك

    You have come, and through the year you strive

    for goodness; may your dwelling be secure.

  7. من بين حيدر تبدو

    فأصبح السعد جارك

    From among Haydar's kin you emerge,

    and good fortune has become your neighbor.

  8. وزاد بالأم فخرا

    بيت الحسني اعتبارك

    And through your mother came added pride:

    the house of al-Hasani enhanced your standing.

  9. فاللّه يرعاك حتى

    ترى زليخا صغارك

    So may God watch over you until

    Zulaykha sees your little ones,

  10. ومن زهيرة أيضا

    وصنوها مختارك

    and those of Zuhayra as well,

    and her brother, your Mukhtar.

  11. ما قال أبوك أرخ

    لي الغلام المبارك

    Record the date in what your father said:
