There came to you from one land, making its way to another,
something of what my hand fashions in delicate verse.
هذاthis صدىecho الطريقthe road لماwhen افترparted in a smile مبسمهits smiling mouth
هذا صدى الطريق لما افتر مبسمه
أعادهrepeated it السمعhearing حرفياverbatim ولمand did not يزدadd anything
أعاده السمع حرفيا ولم يزد
This is the road's echo when its mouth parted in a smile;
hearing repeated it verbatim and added nothing.
