    وما حواه من رجال

    كأنها حور الجنان

    وحق نسوة وما

    And by the women, and what

  14. لاقت بأيدي الظلما

    وحق آساد الحمى

    they suffered at the hands of oppressors,

  16. وحق جرحى استسهلت

    هزل الوغى فاستشهدت

    and innocents who were persecuted,

    قد قدموه للعرب

    And by wealth in gold,

    to draw them in—and it was gone,

    وحق أمعا بعجت

    And by bowels ripped open,

  39. من جندهم فانكشفت

    عن مكرونا انتشرت

    of their soldiers, laid bare

    to reveal macaroni strewn about,

  41. وحق تقديم الخرق

    بيضاء للمولى الأحق
