عواذلُ ذات الخال فيّ حواسدُ

عواذلُ ذات الخال فيّ حواسدُ

وإن ضجيعَ الخَود مني لماجد

وإن ضجيعَ الخَود مني لماجد

The mole-marked beauty’s reproachers are jealous over me.

The damsels with the beauty spot have envied me,

And in me the young beauty has a truly noble bedfellow.

Although the cheek of the beloved is glorified by me.

يردّيداً عن ثوبها وهو قادِرٌ

يردّيداً عن ثوبها وهو قادِرٌ

ويعصي الهوى في طيفها وهو راقد

ويعصي الهوى في طيفها وهو راقد

He draws his hand back from her robe, though he is able,

He draws his robe from her while having power over her,

And resists desire when her image appears in dreams, while he sleeps.

And disobeys his love though her image is with him while he sleeps.
