1. بين الجريب إلى كثيب المصبري

    حُورٌ يَصِبْنَ فؤادَ كلِّ غِضَنْفر

    Between al-Jarib and the dune of al-Masbari,

    Dark-eyed maidens strike the heart of every lion;

  2. وكواعبٌ بيضُ الوجوه خراعبٌ

    يخطرن بين مُعَصْفر ومزعفر

    And budding-breasted maidens, fair-faced, tall and supple,

    Walk with swaying grace in safflower- and saffron-dyed robes;

  3. من كل حائلة الوشاح كأنّها

    غُصْنُ الأراك على الكَثيب الأعْفَر

    Each with a loosely shifting sash, as though she were

    A branch of the arak tree upon the dust-colored dune.
