وما عليّ إذّا ضَيْفٌ تأوَّبني

وما عليّ إذّا ضَيْفٌ تأوَّبني

من المَلاَمِ إذا أديت مجهودي

من المَلاَمِ إذا أديت مجهودي

And what falls upon me, when a guest comes to me at night,

I am not to be blamed if a guest seeks me,

of blame, if I have done my utmost?

I do my duty, though critics assail me.
