وليس لنا غير الصلاح بها شغل

وليس لنا غير الصلاح بها شغل

We grew up as young men loving Algeria,

We were raised to love Algeria, as youth

We grew up as youths upon the love of Algeria,

And there we have no pursuit but doing good.

And we have no occupation but to improve it

And we have no occupation within her save for reform.

بلاد حماها الأطلسان فأصبحت

لنا قلعة ما في القلاع لها مثل

A land protected by the two Atlas ranges, so it became

A country protected by the Atlas Mountains, it has become

A land guarded by the twin Atlas ranges, so she became

A fortress for us, with no equal among fortresses.

A fortress, unmatched among all fortresses

For us a fortress that, among all fortresses, has no peer.
