Greetings, month of spring

The month of Rabi‘ has greeted you,

With every wondrous beauty,

With all good and beauty

With every wondrous beauty,

مذكرا برسول

مذكرا برسول

للعالمين شفيع

للعالمين شفيع

Reminding you of a Messenger,

Reminding of the Messenger

Reminding of a Messenger,

An intercessor for all the worlds.

Intercessor for all peoples

An intercessor for all the worlds,

مبارك حل فيه

مبارك حل فيه

حلول غيث بريع

حلول غيث بريع

A blessed one arrived in that month,

Blessed is his arrival

A blessed one arrived within it,

Like rain arriving on a hill.

Like beneficial rain pouring down

Like the arrival of life-giving rain,

أهل فيه بصوت

أهل فيه بصوت

عذب وسمت وديع

عذب وسمت وديع

In it he uttered his first cry with a voice

People chant in it

He emerged in it with a voice,

Sweet, and with a gentle bearing.

With melodious, calm voices

Sweet, and with a gentle demeanor,

فكان أذكى وليد

فكان أذكى وليد

وكان أزكى رضيع

وكان أزكى رضيع

Thus he was the brightest newborn,

Thus was born the wisest infant

So he was the purest of newborns,

And he was the purest suckling.

And the most righteous suckling

And the most virtuous of suckling infants,

وكان خيررسول

وكان خيررسول

للمشركين قريع

للمشركين قريع

And he was the finest messenger,

And the best Messenger

And he was the best of Messengers,

A formidable opponent of the polytheists.

For pagans, a defeat

A striking rebuke to the polytheists,

أسدى الينا صنيعا

أسدى الينا صنيعا

ما مثله من صنيع

ما مثله من صنيع

He bestowed upon us a kindness

He bestowed upon us a favor

He bestowed upon us a favor,

No other kindness could equal.

Unlike any favor

The likes of which has no equal,

فجاءنا بكتاب

فجاءنا بكتاب

من الاله رفيع

من الاله رفيع

And he brought us a Book,

So he came with a Book

So he came to us with a Scripture,

Sublime, from God.

From The Exalted God

Exalted, from the Divine,

ما انفك يأسر منا

ما انفك يأسر منا

فؤاد كل سميع

فؤاد كل سميع

It has never ceased to captivate among us

That continued to capture our hearts

It ceases not to captivate within us,

The heart of every listener.

Of every listener

The heart of every attentive listener,

يا أمة الخير لبي

يا أمة الخير لبي

دعاءه وأطيعي

دعاءه وأطيعي

O community of goodness, answer

O nation of goodness, respond

O Nation of Goodness, answer the call,

His call, and obey.

To his call and obey

Respond to his summons and obey,

ولا تهيني كنوزا

ولا تهيني كنوزا

صمن آيه أو تضيعي

صمن آيه أو تضيعي

And do not disdain treasures

And do not lose treasures

And do not neglect the treasures,

Within his verses, nor squander them.

Of signs or let them go to waste

Preserved within his verses, lest you be lost,

محمد ليس يرضى

محمد ليس يرضى

أن توصمي بشنيع

أن توصمي بشنيع

Muhammad does not consent

Muhammad does not accept

Muhammad is never pleased,

To your being branded with disgrace.

That you brand him with disgrace

That you be branded with disgrace,

محمد ليس يرضى

محمد ليس يرضى

أن تخلدي لوضيع

أن تخلدي لوضيع

Muhammad does not consent

Muhammad does not accept

Muhammad is never pleased,

To your yielding to someone base.

That you condemn the fallen

That you settle for a lowly state,

فأوى الى الله تأوي

فأوى الى الله تأوي

الى الجناب المنيع

الى الجناب المنيع

So seek refuge in God; you will find refuge

So take refuge in God, take refuge

So flee to Allah, and you shall find refuge,

In the impregnable sanctuary.

In The Impenetrable Protector

In His impregnable protection,

بيعي له كل غال

بيعي له كل غال

بجنة الخلد بيعي

بجنة الخلد بيعي

Sell to Him everything precious;

Sell Him every precious thing

Trade for His sake all that is precious;

For eternal Paradise—sell!

For the eternal Garden, sell to Him

Purchase the Garden of Eternity with it,

وآزري حزب طه

وآزري حزب طه

بجهدك المستطيع

بجهدك المستطيع

And support Taha's party

And support the party of Taha

And support the party of Taha,

With all the effort you can muster.

With your able effort

With the utmost of your ability,

إن الشقاق فظيع

إن الشقاق فظيع

يدعو لكل فظيع

يدعو لكل فظيع

Indeed, discord is dreadful;

Indeed, discord is abhorrent

For indeed, discord is distinctively terrible,

It invites every horror.

And calls for every abhorrence

It invites every atrocity,

والشاة للذئب سهم

والشاة للذئب سهم

إن فرطت في القطيع

إن فرطت في القطيع

And a sheep is the wolf's allotted share

And the sheep are easy prey

And the sheep becomes the wolf's share,

If it neglects the flock.

If you neglect the flock

If it strays from the flock,

يا أمة الخير هبي

يا أمة الخير هبي

الى المتاب السريع

الى المتاب السريع

O community of goodness, rise

O nation of goodness, hasten

O Nation of Goodness, rise up,

To swift repentance.

To the Oft-Returning

Towards swift repentance,

قومي بدينك قومي

قومي بدينك قومي

قوية لا تميعي

قوية لا تميعي

Stand firm in your faith—stand firm,

Stand for your faith, stand firm

Stand firm with your religion, stand firm,

Strong; do not grow soft.

Strong, do not waver

Strong, and do not weaken or dissolve,

فليس رخو كصلب

فليس رخو كصلب

وظالع كظليع

وظالع كظليع

For the soft is not like the firm,

For softness is not like resolve

For the soft is not like the solid,

Nor the lame like the sturdy.

And dawn is not like high noon

Nor the limping like the strong-striding,

كوني لطه كجند

كوني لطه كجند

من صحب طه شجيع

من صحب طه شجيع

Be for Taha like an army

Be for Taha like an army

Be for Taha like soldiers,

Of Taha's valiant companions.

Of brave Taha companions

Like the brave Companions of Taha,

فدوا من الضيم طه

فدوا من الضيم طه

ودينه بالنجيع

ودينه بالنجيع

They ransomed Taha from oppression,

Who shielded Taha

Who ransomed Taha from oppression,

And his faith, with their lifeblood.

And his faith from injustice

And defended his religion with their lifeblood,

أزكى رضى الله عنهم

أزكى رضى الله عنهم

من صارع وصريع

من صارع وصريع

May God's purest favor rest upon them,

The most righteous, may God be pleased

May the purest pleasure of Allah be upon them,

Fighters and fallen alike,

Those who fought and died as martyrs

Upon every combatant and martyr,

مجندل في الفيافي

مجندل في الفيافي

أوملحد في البقيع

أوملحد في البقيع

Laid low in the deserts

At Mijdel in the deserts

Laid low upon the desert sands,

Or buried in al-Baqiʿ.

Or Malhada in the grave site

Or entombed within Al-Baqi‘,

فاقفيهم تحت ضوء

فاقفيهم تحت ضوء

من الرجاء سطيع

من الرجاء سطيع

So follow them beneath a light

So stand with them in the glow

So follow their tracks beneath a light,

Radiant with hope.

Of hopeful obedience

Shining brightly with hope,

وتابعي هدي طه

وتابعي هدي طه

وشايعي وأذيعي

وشايعي وأذيعي

And follow Taha's guidance,

And follow the guidance of Taha

And pursue the guidance of Taha,

And support it and proclaim it.

Propagate and spread

Ally with it, and spread it forth,

فما له من ضريب

فما له من ضريب

في هديه أو ضريع

في هديه أو ضريع

For he has no equal

For none deviate from his guidance

For there is no equal to him,

In his guidance, nor any peer.

Or change his course

In his guidance, nor any peer,

هو المشفع فينا

هو المشفع فينا

يوم الحساب المريع

يوم الحساب المريع

He is our intercessor, whose plea is granted,

He is our intercessor

He is the granted intercessor for us,

On the terrifying Day of Reckoning.

On the feared Day of Reckoning

On the Day of the Dreadful Reckoning,

فلا عدمناه نورا

فلا عدمناه نورا

ورحمة للجميع

ورحمة للجميع

So may we never be deprived of him—a light

May we never lack his light

May we never be deprived of his light,

And a mercy for all.

And mercy for all

And a mercy unto all.
