    ذكرتك فاعتراني الحزن جدا

O cherished emir of sword and pen,

I remembered you, and deep sorrow overcame me.

For whoever lacks hope in it falls to ruin.

Your radiant portrait shone forth like a full moon,

Before us, drawing light from the sun of your resolve.
