تُوفّىَ ركنُ الدين والعلم والهدَى

تُوفّىَ ركنُ الدين والعلم والهدَى

عليُّ بن مسعود سليلُ محمدِ

عليُّ بن مسعود سليلُ محمدِ

The pillar of religion, learning, and guidance has passed away:

Ali son of Mas'ud, descendant of Muhammad,

سليلُ عليٍّ نسلُ مسعود الفتَى

سليلُ عليٍّ نسلُ مسعود الفتَى

سَليل على نسلُ محمود الندَى

سَليل على نسلُ محمود الندَى

descendant of Ali, offspring of Mas'ud the youth,

descendant of Ali, offspring of Mahmud the bountiful,

سَليلُ المحاميدِ الذين عهدتهمُ

سَليلُ المحاميدِ الذين عهدتهمُ

تَوَالَوْا جميعاً سيداً بعد سيِّدِ

تَوَالَوْا جميعاً سيداً بعد سيِّدِ

a scion of the Mahamid, whom I knew—

they all succeeded one another, lord after lord.

تولّى كريماً في ربيع وفاتُه

تولّى كريماً في ربيع وفاتُه

وغادَر فينا كلَّ شَملٍ مُبدَّدِ

وغادَر فينا كلَّ شَملٍ مُبدَّدِ

He departed a noble man; his death was in Rabi',

and left every gathering among us scattered.

مضتْ مائةٌ والألفُ مِن قبل أربعٍ

مضتْ مائةٌ والألفُ مِن قبل أربعٍ

وعَشرٌ توافَتْ في حساب مُقيَّدِ

وعَشرٌ توافَتْ في حساب مُقيَّدِ

A hundred and a thousand had passed before four

and ten came to completion in a recorded reckoning,

بعصرِ ابن سلطان بن سيف بن مالكٍ

بعصرِ ابن سلطان بن سيف بن مالكٍ

إمام الهدى سيف الكريم المؤيَّدِ

إمام الهدى سيف الكريم المؤيَّدِ

in the reign of the son of Sultan son of Sayf son of Malik,

the Imam of guidance, Sayf, the generous and aided one.

وصلِّ إلهَ العرش ما ذرَّ شارقٌ

وصلِّ إلهَ العرش ما ذرَّ شارقٌ

على المصطفى الهادى النبيِّ محمدِ

على المصطفى الهادى النبيِّ محمدِ

And send blessings, O God of the Throne, as long as the sun rises,

upon the Chosen One, the guide, the Prophet Muhammad.

سَقَى اللهُ قبراً حلَّ فيه حبيبُنَا

سَقَى اللهُ قبراً حلَّ فيه حبيبُنَا

وعلَّ ثراه دائماً كلُّ مُرْعِدِ

وعلَّ ثراه دائماً كلُّ مُرْعِدِ

May God water the grave where our beloved rests,

and may every thundercloud forever drench its soil anew.
