تُوفّىَ محمودُ الفِضال وليُّنَا

تُوفّىَ محمودُ الفِضال وليُّنَا

هو الندبُ عبدُ الله نسلُ الفتى حمدْ

هو الندبُ عبدُ الله نسلُ الفتى حمدْ

Our guardian, praised for his virtues, has passed away.

Our protector Mahmoud Al-Fiddaal has passed away

He was the noble Abd Allah, offspring of the young man Hamad,

He is the lamented Abdallah, offspring of the noble Hamad

سليلُ ابن درعٍ ذُو تُقى وفضائل

سليلُ ابن درعٍ ذُو تُقى وفضائل

وأهلُ الندَى والجودِ والرشدِ والزهدْ

وأهلُ الندَى والجودِ والرشدِ والزهدْ

A scion of Ibn Dirʿ, endowed with piety and virtues,

Descendant of Ibn Diraa', possessing piety and virtues

And a man of bounty, generosity, right guidance, and asceticism.

And people of benevolence, generosity, integrity, asceticism

فتىً همُّه التَّقْوى وطاعةُ خالقٍ

فتىً همُّه التَّقْوى وطاعةُ خالقٍ

وذِكْر إلهٍ قادر واحدٍ صمدْ

وذِكْر إلهٍ قادر واحدٍ صمدْ

A young man whose concern was piety and obedience to the Creator,

A young man whose concern is piety and obeying the Creator

And remembrance of God, powerful, One, the Self-Sufficient.

And praising the One Able God, The Eternal

لأَلفٌ مضَى من بعدها مائة خَلَتْ

لأَلفٌ مضَى من بعدها مائة خَلَتْ

وأربعةُ الأعوام والعشرُ في العددْ

وأربعةُ الأعوام والعشرُ في العددْ

Indeed, a thousand had passed; after it, a hundred had elapsed,

One thousand elapsed, after it a hundred years have passed

And four years, and ten, in the reckoning.

And forty-four years in total
