Every passion has a curb in the guide of prudence;
Each passion has a restrainer of prudence,
but love for you is what no restraint has checked.
And your love did not depart from it, although it had a deterrent.

For it the eye's knots are loosened, freely yielded,
The knots of the eye are untied, yielded to it,
while the ribs are laced shut around it in jealous care.
And from reluctance ribs expanded towards it.

A solid rock that reprovers cannot split,
Pure ones against the blamer, they do not make it shatter,
even if a cleaver split a gorge in Abanayn.
Even if the path, from either of two slopes, split by a divider.

toward others than you, my heart contends for you.
To other than you, while my heart contends against you?

They say around me of the meeting and a gaze,
stolen in secret—by your life, a love easily contented!
Furtive, by your life, your love is content.

Ask the group, did any of the group come back?

Even if half of it the self is anguished?

Yet Najd lies far beyond an Iraqi's reach.
While Najd against the Iraqi is capacious.

Blood which evil led astray the hearing.

So it cut off with it, while my heart fell down.

جنابُكyour domain عنيtoward me ضيّقاًnarrow وهوthough it is واسعُwide
جنابُك عني ضيّقاً وهو واسعُ
I seek refuge for you in your envied glory, lest
And I praise when councils wrap around you?
your domain seem narrow to me, though it is wide.
God refused, and grace you judge with

The strangest thing I have been told is that you preserve high honor
For me, even if a contestant to you appeals.
while one like me is lost in the days of your rule.
Poetry is nothing but later publishing and picturing

Is one more eloquent than I to be chosen,
So if He willed, He would not make hope in it a raiser.
and more lavish in praise when assemblies throng around you?
The two stars from it set, so a third is not placed

I remained for you alone, even if a group said

Poetry is but diffusion, in reach and form;
In words what prevents you from it the hearings.
if he wished, one who raises it would let no hand covet it.
If I wished through me Zuhair hid his praise

In any case, you give and all of them
