And what son of earth is a target for a son of heaven?
The son of earth is no match for the son of heaven
Two fires that no power whatsoever has quenched.
Two fires that no sultan could extinguish

ثمّ يكونُ الأخبثُ المنهزِما
They fight one another forever, at a distance,
They battle forever across the ages
Then the more wicked one is defeated.
Then the most wicked becomes the vanquished

إصابةً تُدمي ولا تُجرِي دَما
The archer of the two has not failed to deal his companion
Their missiles at each other never make
A hit that bloodies him, yet makes no blood flow.
A hit that draws blood or takes a life

لكن يخوضانِ معاً جَهنما
One is righteous and obeys his Lord; the other is wicked,
One obeys his Lord, the other's rebellious
Yet together they plunge into Hell.
Yet both will plunge together into hell
