Musa and Harun are the two

Found in the books of chronicles,

Two rightly guided sons of al-Mahdi,

Fashioned as two reins of equal measure.

Al-Mahdi has indeed set my tongue free,

And what he bestowed on me has strengthened my back:

    Silver and eagle-like mounts—

ʿĪdī camels, priced far beyond reach.

Were they to rival the Tigris with their milk,

Then it would be said: 'The two rivers are indistinguishable.'
