كَأَنَّما إِنسانُ أَجفانِها

كَأَنَّما إِنسانُ أَجفانِها

للخمر من تحييرها مدمنُ

للخمر من تحييرها مدمنُ

As though the pupil of her eyelids

As though a man whose eyelids

were addicted to wine from the bewilderment she causes.

Are drunk with wine unceasing;

وَلَيسَ إِنساناً وَلَكِنَّه

وَلَيسَ إِنساناً وَلَكِنَّه

هاروتُ في مقلتها يَسكُنُ

هاروتُ في مقلتها يَسكُنُ
