أَيا ناقِصاً يَدّعي أَنَّه

أَيا ناقِصاً يَدّعي أَنَّه

كَريمُ الجُدودِ شَريفُ السَلَف

كَريمُ الجُدودِ شَريفُ السَلَف

O deficient one who claims to be

O you who claim to be

Of noble forebears and honorable ancestry,

Of generous forebears and noble ancestry

أَلا جئ لَنا بَأَبٍ واحِدٍ

أَلا جئ لَنا بَأَبٍ واحِدٍ

وَضيعٍ وَنَحنُ نَحُطُّ الشَرَف

وَضيعٍ وَنَحنُ نَحُطُّ الشَرَف

Come now, bring us a single father

Come, show us but one lowly father -

Of low birth—and we shall waive nobility.

While we bring many a glorious forbear
