I wish I knew which people suffered drought
and through you found relief from long, wasting hunger.
So you would bring them relief after long barrenness
نَظَرَlooked الرَحمَنُthe All-Merciful بِالصُنعِwith favor لَهُمfor them
نَظَرَ الرَحمَنُ بِالصُنعِ لَهُم

The All-Merciful looked upon them with favor,
The Merciful looked upon them with favor
while we were deprived of you for a sin already past.
And deprived us of you for a past sin
